Project context
Since 2000, Victoriaville has offered a demand-responsive public transport service, TaxiBus, provided by taxis on reservation. In 2018, facing significant growth in ridership and the limit of 30 taxi licenses, the city began modernizing its system. As part of its urban planning and sustainable mobility plans adopted in 2019, Victoriaville entrusted Cityway with the deployment of an intelligent transport management solution. Marketed under the name Vecto, this service adapts to the specific needs of sparsely populated areas through a flexible and customized approach. Based on the Cintalia platform, the new solution implemented in 2025 offers advanced features: real-time booking, geolocation, ticket purchasing, route planning, and integration with other modes such as car-sharing or bike-sharing.
The stakes:
Cityway carried out the simulation and definition of the Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) service. Thanks to this study work, the City was able to improve service quality by optimizing the grouping of rides and routing for more direct trips, using fewer taxis to perform the service, and therefore significantly reducing operating costs. With Cityway's DRT management solution, rides are dynamically distributed across the non-dedicated fleets of the two taxi operators. The solution streamlines operating costs, with an increase in shared rides, fewer kilometers traveled, and clear monitoring of operations.
A MaaS platform, an acronym for “Mobility as a Service”, is an integrated mobility application bringing together different modes of transport within a single platform. We also talk about “service mobility”. It aims to offer users a comprehensive solution for their travel needs in a given city or territory, by combining various services such as public transport, carpooling, self-service bikes and other mobility options.
Above all, a MaaS tool such as Cityway represents opportunities for a city or territory to save time in transport management. Repetitive tasks are automated, allowing you to devote your time to essential missions. In addition, our tools improve operational performance, making it possible to streamline operations by reducing expenses. A MaaS platform also allows you to gain control: all the data collected is returned to a dashboard, allowing you to make informed decisions. Finally, let's not forget the clear benefit that such a solution brings to your image: our mobile applications and websites contribute to promoting the network and giving it a positive image among travelers.
Absolutely! With Citiway, your mobile application and website are white labeled, so that they can be recognized by travelers. Add your logo, colors, domain name, and the application to the main stores.
